Meet Our Team

Camille Anderson Licklider earned her bachelor's degree in Music from DePaul University and a JD from Valparaiso University School of Law. Camille has 23 years of experience in the gift planning field and is delighted to be at Northwestern, where she has led the gift planning team since 2012. As senior executive director, Camille leads a diverse group of professionals that includes frontline gift officers and gift planning specialists. Camille also serves as a liaison to the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, Bienen School of Music, School of Communication, and Feinberg School of Medicine. Prior to joining Northwestern University, Camille served as assistant vice president for planned giving at The Florida State University and director of planned giving at DePaul University. She started her career in higher education as an alumni relations officer at DePaul, is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, and serves on the Board of the Chicago Council on Planned Giving.

Augie Bossu earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. He works closely with The Block Museum of Art; School of Education and Social Policy; Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications; and University Libraries. He also supports the Annual Giving, Parent Giving, and Student Affairs programs. Prior to joining Northwestern in 2019, Augie worked at the Human Rights Campaign and the National Park Foundation in Washington, DC.

Ed Featherstone earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. He works closely with the Judd A. and Marjorie Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Prior to joining Northwestern in 1997, Ed served as a teacher and volunteer in South America, as a naval officer onboard the USS Coral Sea, and as a major gifts officer in The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Rob Smitherman earned a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University and a JD from Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. He leads the gift planning administration team, working with the management of life income gifts as well as gifts of life insurance and gifts in-kind. He also works with the gift planning marketing and stewardship programs. Prior to joining Northwestern in February 2015, Rob used his legal and organizational skills with a leading Chicago real estate consulting firm and with a special events organization. Rob had a successful general legal practice in Virginia for more than two decades at the law firm of Daniel, Vaughan, Medley & Smitherman, PC.

Laura Sowatsky earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. She enjoys partnering with the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, School of Professional Studies, interdisciplinary research centers, and student life and scholarships. Prior to joining Northwestern in 1996, Laura worked for the Santa Fe Railway Company in marketing and sales.
